$20 acceptance fee
Providers pay only after they accept the anonymized lead and choose to unlock contact details.
For service providers
Handshake is not a bidding war. Homeowners see one provider at a time, providers review an anonymized lead first, and contact details unlock only after the fixed $20 acceptance payment succeeds.

Provider onboarding
Business profile: business name, phone, email, website, years in business, and a short credibility summary.
Coverage setup: choose service categories and enter the ZIP codes where the business actively wants leads.
Vetting files: upload licenses, insurance certificates, or other documents for private Handshake review.
Approval gate: no live leads are routed until the Handshake review team approves the provider profile.
Pause control: providers can pause new leads when the team is booked out or temporarily unavailable.
Lead economics
Providers pay only after they accept the anonymized lead and choose to unlock contact details.
The lead is not shared with multiple contractors at the same time. The provider gets a focused chance to convert the homeowner.
Refund cases go through Handshake review so bad-lead decisions can be documented and applied consistently.
